Taqtile Australia and the Defence Digital Group modernize training with AR-enabled digital work instructions.
Overview
Taqtile Australia partnered with the Defence Digital Group (DDG) to complete a highly successful incubation initiative, showcasing how Manifest, Taqtile’s digital work instruction platform, can transform Defence training. The collaboration tackled a critical challenge: enabling rapid, scalable training for a geographically dispersed workforce, without relying on third parties for content development or delivery.
Challenge
Australia’s Defence sector faces increasing pressure to train large, distributed teams quickly and effectively. Traditional training models often depend on external vendors, are time-consuming to update, and lack scalability.
The Defence Incubator Branch and Taqtile joined forces to explore a sovereign, agile solution that would:
- Reduce training development overhead
- Support internal content creation and knowledge capture
- Deliver immersive, self-guided instruction at the point of need
Solution
Over multiple sprints, Taqtile configured a tailored Minimum Viable Product (MVP) of Manifest for Defence-specific use cases. This collaborative process brought together Defence stakeholders and Taqtile engineers to rapidly adapt the platform to real-world requirements.
The MVP culminated in a dual-site showcase at Russell Offices and ANZAC Park West, where Defence personnel experienced first-hand how AR-enabled step-by-step instructions improve training, knowledge retention, and operational performance.
